What's Your Story?

Official Rules

Hello and welcome to the 2020 What’s Your Story Video Competition; an online youth campaign offering you a voice about the exciting opportunities and indeed challenges that we all face when we are online.  If you do not accept these Rules, please do not enter the Competition.

1. About the Competition Rules

By taking part in the Competition you are agreeing to these official rules (“Competition Rules”).

“We” and “Us” mean Trend Micro Limited and Save the Children Hong Kong, and we sponsor the What’s Your Story internet safety education programme and the Competition.

“You” means someone who takes part or appears in an Entry. It is the responsibility of the entrant to make sure that each participant is made aware and accepts these Competition Rules. This means that if you submit a video, please make sure that all of the actors (who are called “participants”) and their parents (where the participants are under 18) are happy for you to agree to these Competition Rules. We recommend that you have all participants review these Competition Rules

2. About the Competition
We run the Competition to raise awareness and educate our community about the risks, dangers and also the exciting opportunities available to us all when we are online. The Competition gives you the opportunity to create a short video (an “Entry”) and upload it to the What’s Your Story Website.

Create and upload a 2 minute video answering the following question and share with as many people as you can. Entries with the highest views will be shortlisted for our judges to decide the ultimate winners of 2021.

Create a video answering this question:

How have you kept yourself safe online during the pandemic?”

This year, we saw a major disruption in the way we work, learn and socialise online. The whole world has been forced to go digital in most unimaginable ways. We should be aware of a completely new set of potential cyber risks. We’re really interested to know your suggestions on protecting yourselves from those risks; we want to know your story.

How have you kept yourself safe online during the pandemic?”

Have an answer? Then grab a camera and tell us!

Be funny. Be dramatic. Be creative. Whatever you do, be real.

Create a video to answer this year’s question for a chance to win one of our great prizes. Use live action, stop action, animation, original music or none. Once your video is ready to be shared, get out there and spread your message far and wide. Promote it to your family, friends, classmates, communities and everyone you know!

Have an answer? Then tell us your story! The world needs to hear it.

Once we have checked that your Entry meets the Competition Rules we will post it online for others to view and comment on. Entries with the highest complete views will become our finalists. A video that is viewed in its entirety is considered a “complete view”. A panel of independent Judges will then select the winning Entries.

3. Key Dates and Deadlines

The Opening Date for uploading Entries is December 1, 2020 and the Closing Date is February 8, 2021.

Of course, there is no right or wrong answer, so the Judges will be using their personal judgement. The Judges decision is final and not open for review or subject to challenge.

We aim to notify all winners in late February 2021. If you are one of the winners, we will use the contact details you have provided to get in touch with you and let you know the good news.
